Alongside my two friends, I took part in a 24 hour programming competition held by the IEEE. In it, questions were released every hour and contestants would submit solutions to the problems in any programming they deemed suitable. Though not ranked high up, we had a great time thinking hard and working together.
Engineering Council of South Africa Candidate Engineer
As with most qualifications, one needs to be a certified member of a professional council. Having qualified in South Africa, I chose to join ECSA, the council in charge of my engineering discipline. This makes my qualification valid in various countries and territories, which can be found on the ECSA website: Education & Accreditation – Qualifications Recognised (ecsa.co.za).
